Ukraine to fight for hosting Olympic Winter Games 2022
Ukraine continues to fight for the right to host the Winter Olympics in 2022, because this great sporting event will be a powerful impetus for the development of Ukraine. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said this at a lecture to students of Poltava Institute of Law of the National University "Law Academy named after Yaroslav the Wise".
"Holding the Winter Olympics will be a powerful impetus for the development of our country. Ukraine is little known in the world and holding of large-scale events such as the Olympics and Euro 2012 gives us the opportunity to attract investment to Ukraine" – PM said.
According to him such serious sporting events provide the opportunity to open Ukraine to the world. "We will fight for the right to host the Olympics, we are preparing for it at the same time it gives us the opportunity to continue work on the development of sports infrastructure" - said the Prime Minister. Mykola Azarov also said that Ukraine holds the European Basketball Championship in Odessa in 2015.
